W124 Milometer Not Working

The milometer on my W124 has stopped working although the speedo still works. Does anyone know if there is a fix or do i need to a new one?

If you look at the dash you will find 2 knobs protruding out of it. The right hand one is the potentiameter for the dash lights, the left hand one does 2 functions. 1) to adjust the time and 2) if you press it it re sets the mileometer. Press it in and hold it, then just slide your finger or thumb away. Sometimes places all the gears in line and it starts to work again.
