Help - W220 Nokia Phone PSE location

I've just searched the forum and can't find a definitive answer...

I want to replace the PSE on our W220 to allow me to use the 6310i. We currently have the original factory fit Mercedes Nokia Car Kit for the 6210.

Anyway I have just sourced through ebay (very cheaply) a PSE module for the 6310i (A203 820 25 85). I think this is the same one that I have in the W203 also which was recently upgraded for the 6310i.

From other posts I also believe this will be okay for the W220. I need to know where the PSE module for the phone is located on the W220, I seem to recall that it's either under the rear seat or on the right hand side of the boot, near the CD Changer?

Has anyone done this? or, know for definite where it should be on the W220, I plan to swap out the PSE this weekend.

Sorry, I can't help you with the location of the PSE module.
I'm after the same module for my W203. Any chance the seller has more? I've been looking on ebay, but have not seen one turn up for a while. :(

I've also tried Mercman without success.

He hasn't got any more it came from someone that upgrade his CLK to the UHI interface through Braybrooks.

I had also been looking for one for ages, the first one I got went into the W203 too! They do come up more frequently on the German ebay site. Audiocomp (in Germany) have refurbished 6310i PSEs for EUR 149 their also have a 6 month warranty:

Click on telephone on the right hand side. Depending upon the kit you already have you may need to upgrade your cradle too.

I'll have to check out the Audiocomp website. I seem to recall reading in posts here that there are two version of the PSE module, and it will depend on the s/w version of the phone if it works or not. What I have not found is which phone s/w version is compatible with which module.
Maybe Audiocomp can advise me. :confused:

Because of other work done on the car, the wiper job has been put back for the moment. :(

I nearly ordered the parts from MB Uxbridge, but they do not offer any discount. When I do get around to order, I'll have to find a friendly stealer who will give me some discount!

Finally upgraded the PSE on the W220 at the weekend...

I spent ages carefully removing trim from the boot. No joy on the right hand side near the CD changer, tried the left-hand side, still nothing. Tried the boot floor, around the spare wheel, still nothing :crazy:

Anyway, I then removed the rear seat and under the insulation / heated seat pads? eventually found the module.

All in all; once I found the location it took all of 5 minutes to swap over. Not a major update but now I can use the 6310i in both the W203 & the W220.

Apparantley US models have the module behind the RHS lining near the CD changer and some US W211 (E classes) have it under the floor behind the spare wheel. Couldn't find anything on other forums for the UK W220 so figured let's try under the seat as I recall in other posts other stuff is found under there too!

Bought part number A 203 820 5185 from AudioComp. Delivered this morning and fitted and working by lunchtime.:)
