HI,

There is a guy selling a comand my01 update cd which he says makes the comand system faster and more efficient and fixes the battery drain bug amongst other things like quicker route calcs and updates user interface.

Is it all a load of bo***cks or should I buy this to make my 2000 comand better. It works fine but I dont want to miss out. He says you just put the cd in the comand slot and follow his attached instructions. He also says 'Upgrading is not a service item so unless you have specifically told a dealer to upgrade it - it wont have been done.'

Is this true?

Help would be appreciated

the MY01 update is a good update but it all depends on whether you car already has the update applied. If it has postcode entry on the NAV stuff then i think this means that it already has the update applied. All cars after 2002 have it as standard i think.

hope this helps

Help would be appreciated

Sorry to be a pain - why not just ask the dealer next time its serviced. Mine did it for free - I see no reason why this is sold to you. You can also download it from the web too - although I wouldn't advocate doing this unless you know your limits and capabilities.
