Transfer CD Player

HI all, I'm new to this forum so apologies if this has been covered before...
I'm currently driving a C220 cdi but will shortly be getting a new E320cdi.
Can I swop the MB CD player currently in the glovebox of the 220 to the 320?
The E class is a standard Avantgarde and is fitted with an Audio 20 (I think) single CD/Radio unit.
If thats not possiblew is there an alternative to the vastly over-priced MB option?
All advice greatfully appreciated...

I suspect the changer won't work in the W211, although both units use fibre optic it's a different protocol, one is D2B and the other is MOST, as far as I know. I'm sure someone else can confirm.

EDIT: you didn't say what model year your C220 CDI is, it *might* work if it's relatively new

The 220 is an '02 model.

The 220 is an '02 model.
It will almost definitely be the older type fibre optic setup in your C220 CDI.

Like I said, I'm hoping someone else can confirm this.

Not sure how much the CD multiplayer is now on a new vehicle (i.e the one which motors out from under the panel in front of the gearshift) but I can assure you that getting one of those retrofitted is at least twice as much
