I upgraded to v10 a while ago and whilst I agree with you that the functionality hasn't changed that much, at least my road is now on the map... The route, road, and POI data is much more uptodate.
Re Audi's version - I agree. I had an S3 with nav before my C55 and the graphics were excellent. My wife has an X5 and hers is almost 3D... Merc is way behind...
