Actually not quite so true. I was told that the airbag needs to decelerate the chest. If it decelerates your head and not your chest (because you are too low) as your body is heavy you break your neck.

So need to ensure any child seat is putting the child high enough (or far back enough that the seatbelt is doing its job first ? Which if you've put an adult behind and pushed the seat fully forward seems unlikely.

Safest seat in the car is the rear seat behind the passenger.
